They have spiffed this place up a ton. It used to be one of my favorite divey kinda places. Fancier now, food not quite as good. Still good, great view
The restaurant is loud. Concrete floors mixed with wooden chairs and tables make for a lot of noise. While chairs were being moved you couldn't have a conversation at your own table. Felt pads would be an easy fix for this. The ambient noise level is also pretty high given the amount of space in the room.
It sits right on the water. We went late afternoon for boiled clam pot (a little on the small side...but TASTY :D ) We were able to dine outside on the deck & enjoy the sunset over the lake. They have a nice selection of great dishes & cozy atmosphere. They do have piers for customers ( need repairs tho, one was completely submerged under a foot of water & a lil shaky) Inside, they have a huge fireplace & homey decor. Would definitely return again.
I hope they can address staffing levels and improving service times soon. The food was good and as I said the building has been remodeled very nicely. The landscaping and patio/deck have great views of the harbor and events there are always fun!
9/1/2017 Had early dinner at the grill last night. The dinning room was so noisy that my wife and I had a hard time conversing. The site lines to the beautiful fireplace were obscured by ugly planters. Our table wobbled. There is also a need for more staff. We were seated immediately and the waitress was prompt to get our drink orders and our dinner order... then a large group came in and our waitress got very overloaded. We had to wait 10 minutes and then ask for refills on water and wine. Our side salads, which would have come before the entree at any other restaurant, came with our main food. There was a very long wait for the food as well. After getting some assistance from the manager(?) things got better as far as response times (they also comp'ed a second glass of wine) but I know that ours wasn't the only table to be impacted by this delay.
Visited on a whim and we loved it. Nice indoor area, great outdoor seating with live band during nice weather. Beautiful sunset over the sailboats. And on your birthday you get a free order of wings that equals your age.
comfort later that evening. Service was prompt and excellent. The only plus of the evening.
While a lot of work has been done to make this a beautiful building, more needs to be done with the restaurant itself.
